He was the viceroy of Varanasi before he became the
king of Magadha.
Shisunaga defeated the king of Avanti Chandra Pratyoda Mahasena, which was made part of theMagadhan Empire.

Shishunaga shifted the capital of Magadha to
Vaishali for a short period.
He was succeeded by his son “Kalasoka”,
(Kakavarnin).
