Germany fought the soviet Union for Stalingrad now Volgograd It was one of the bloodiest battles in history with about 2,000,000 casualties. This battle was won by the Soviet Union.

1. This battle probably left almost no family's alive if they lived there if they did they probably moved away. However there were probably many civilian deaths.

2. This event along with D-Day were the major turning points in WW2 this event used up a lot of supplies and ammunition for the Germans.

3. Ultimately the results of this battle left the soviets angry and wanting more, when the allies won the war the Soviets had control of west berlin and the built the Berlin wall which held people in west berlin for 27 years.
