Ernest Rutherford (England) (1 ene 1871 año – 1 ene 1937 año)
Descripción:
He discovered the nucleus of the atom and developed an atomic model that was similar to that of a solar system.
He discovered the nucleus of the atom during an experiment which involved a beam of alpha particles being shot at a very thin gold foil. They expected the alpha particles to pass straight through the foil, but instead they observed that it was diffracted and some even reflected, which disproved the model popular at the time: the “plum pudding” model.
