- economic ruin
- huge damage to property

2. U.S.
- gained huge pieces of land
- fight over what to do with land (Slavery: YES or NO)

3. Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
- Mexico recognize Rio Grande as southern border of Texas
- Took California and Mew Mexico (Mexico Cession)
