Jackson Presidency (1 ene 1829 año – 1 ene 1837 año)
Descripción:
After slightly losing the vote to John Quincy Adams in the 1824 presidential election, Jackson redeemed himself when returning four years later as president (1829-1837). As the US political parties were born, Jackson quickly became the leader of the new Democratic Party. Jackson was a supporter of states’ rights and slavery extension into the new western territories. In some people’s eyes, his legacy was blackened by his role in the forced relocation of the Native American tribes living east of the Mississippi River.
