After the Boston Massacre and Boston Tea Party, a group of delegates- George Washington, John Adams, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, and John Jay- met in Philadelphia. This meeting was to get rid of taxation without representation along with maintaining the British Army's presence in the colonies.
