The 18th century was known as the century of philosophy, as many ideas came about during this time period. Although mostly centered in France, many ideas came from across the entire continent. From math and science, to literature and politics, the Age of Enlightenment changed the western world. Ideas of freedom and liberty led to the revolutions in the latter half of the century.
