The Space race was a race between the USA and the USSR to be the most dominant in space. This was during the cold war so tensions between the US and USSR were already high. whoever built the first rocket to work in space could also build a nuclear rocket that comes from space. The US eventually won the Space Race when they built a rocket that could go from Earth to the moon and back.

1. What would the USSR have done if they won the war? Who knows they could have threatened us with nuclear missiles unless we surrender or just shoot missiles at us then take the US.

2. Was it worth it? Yes there were no lives were lost on the US side and mankind took a huge step towards exploring what is out there.

3. What resulted from the Space Race? while it did cause increased tension between the US and the USSR it largely benefitted human society and after The Cold War the two countries collaborated in space explorations.

4. pros and cons of the space race. pros: There were an increased number of high paying jobs and helped speed up and create things like telecommunications, micro-technology, computer science and solar power. Cons: Almost nothing bad happened that i could find online, although as previously mentioned the relationship between the two warring countries was not improved

5. This win for the US helped put them on track to win the Cold War and also put the US as the top superpower. It was also a great relief for US citizens because they were nervous that they would lose the race and worst case scenario have a increased chance nuclear fallout.
