Their culture, from the beginning, was founded on the dreams of going to Niargrim, "Target in the Sky" (Beta). Everything they did, they did to further themselves towards reaching that planet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------These aspirations would lead the Fairmen to conquer their entire planet (despite other races stabilizing their DNA many centuries earlier and therefore having more time to advance technologies), and subsequently developing technology to fly and then to travel through orbit, and then through space towards Niagrim, where they slaughtered the friendly Humani.
