also known as the seven years war, this conflict marked more struggled between France and Britain when France expanded into the Ohio river valley. many small battles led to Britains official declaration of war in 1756. Britain started winning and turning the tides in the battles at Louisbourg, Fort Frontenac and the French-Canadian stronghold of Quebec. the British gained territory in Canada from France and Florida from Spain at the peace conference of 1763. this opened up the Mississippi River Vally for western expansion.
