Javíkãṡwĩ Colony, Javician Support vs the Alkya Tribe
Javician victory
Tensions between the colony of Javíkãṡwĩ and the Ikenan tribe of Alkya had grown since the winter of 1616-1617 as the settlers requested help in the form of food from the natives. The natives did not agree and eventually a fight broke out between a few natives and settlers which led to the death of one native. In retaliation, the Alkyans launched a raid on the colony, resulting in the death of 5 settlers. After this raid, settler Javik Kyèlaic was chosen as leader and ordered the construction of a wooden wall around the settlement to protect against future raids. The wall stood for two months until the Javíkãṡwĩ Trading Company arrived with over 100 more settlers, pigs, chickens, and crops, allowing the colony to actually stand a chance against the natives. With the increase in people, Kyèlaic decided to orchestrate a raid on Alkya Village in retaliation of past few raids by the Alkya people. In the raid, the settlers obtained numerous axes and spears, dozens of crops, and plenty of supplies. Although, they did kill about 30 natives and took the 3 daughters of the chief hostage. This raid, known as the 1617 Raid of Alkya, was the catalyst for the 1st Simèsèntana War.
The war lasted until the winter as the natives collapsed from the lack of crops which their fields had been devastated by the settlers' strategy.
