The Glorious Revolution was a revolution against the catholic king James II. The people of the Netherlands decided on William of orange as the new king (He's actually the reason carrots are classically orange), and his wife, and King James' daughter, Mary. During this time the Duch also ratified a bill of rights that stated that there were to be two rulers instead of just one.
