Japanese Invasion (8 dic 1941 año – 8 mayo 1942 año)

Descripción:

- General Douglas MacArthur was in command of the Allied forces protecting the island
- The invasion took place on the American-controlled islands of the Philippines
- The Japanese invaded the island with 200,000 troops against the 80,000 Allies. The Allies retreated to the Bataan Peninsula and MacArthur was ordered to leave the Philippines on March 11, 1942, pledging "I shall return" to the thousands of men who did not make it out. After the troops surrendered a month later, the Japanese forced the soldiers through what became known as the "Bataan Death March". The conditions were similar to those in Holocaust marches, those who survived the march stayed in a prisoner camp that had inadequate food and medicine supply.
- The battle was a rough Allied defeat which angered the Allies and led to Doolittle's Raid early the next year
