Juan Cornago (1 ene 1400 año – 1 ene 1475 año)
Descripción:
Juan Cornago was one of the earliest known Spanish Renaissance composers. He graduated from the University of Paris in 1449 with a Bachelor in Theology. In 1455, Cornago was identified as the chaplain for Alfonso V (the king of Portugal) and was granted a large amount of resources and a high annual salary. After the death of Alfonso V in 1458, Cornago became chaplain for Alfonso’s son, Ferrante I, King of Naples and also served as a singer in a chapel for Ferdinand II of Aragon. His music was largely successful because of his interactions with Kings and others that held respectable positions in Spanish Renaissance society.
