The Battle of the Frontiers (1 agos 1914 año – 30 agos 1914 año)

Descripción:

This battle was comprised of five offensives made under the French Commander-in-Chief, Joeseph Joffre and German Chief of Staff, Helmuth von Moltke. The three battles were at Mulhouse Lorraine, the Ardennes, Charleroi and Mons. The most significant and most impactful of the battles were the battle of the Mons. During this battle, the 15,000 strong British Expeditionary Force (BEF) delayed the German troops, however it did not completely halt them. By the end of August, German troops could not keep up with the Schlieffen Plan and were exhausted and running out of supplies, making them weaker and easier to halt.
