Leone Battista Alberti was a famous Italian humanist, architect and the initiator of the Renaissance art theory. He grew up in a wealthy family in Florence. Leone got most of his math training from his Father, which made him become interested in business and believed in regular, rational order. Because of his skills in mathematics, he was exceptional at drawing proportions which helped give a realistic perspective. His early formal education was very humanistic, he went to a boarding school in Padua, which focused heavily on literature. He majored in law, when his Father died. He then moved to Bologna for 7 years filled with grief but he didn’t give up on his studies. After receiving his doctorate for canon law, he took a job for secretary. Later on in life, he wrote a lot of philosophical books on humanism, books about arts as well as science, which all started in Rome.
