Henry the Navigator (1 ene 1394 año – 1 ene 1460 año)

Descripción:

Henry the Navigator, the Prince of Portugal, was the son of King John I. Though he was not a sailor or a navigator, he got his name because he encouraged european exploration in the early 15th century. The capture of the Moroccan city of Ceuta was what sparked his career. He sponsored many expeditions in the early days of exploration, in order to conquer new lands in order to takeover the Islamic Empire with Christianity. He was also famous for inventing the caravel as well as the astrolabe, which were both key technologies that made European exploration successful.
