Age of Discovery (1 ene 1500 año – 1 ene 1750 año)
Descripción:
The age of discovery, also known as the age of exploration, began in the late 14th century and ended in the mid 17th century. During this time, unprecedented exploration of the world took place, with Europe leading the explorations. The main drive for these explorations was the hope of finding a trade route to Asia. Explorers from Portugal and Spain such as Francisco Pizarro, Ferdinand Magellan, and Herman Cortes took the lead in the explorations. The crowning event of the age of exploration was Christopher Columbus's discovery of the new world in 1492. Once Europe had knowledge of a new continent, it was a race to lay claim to the land. During the age of exploration, sea navigation was developed with compasses, nautical charts, and other tools. Slave trade also became a large industry in the new world.
