Bleeding Kansas (24 mayo 1854 año – 29 ene 1861 año)

Descripción:

Bleeding Kansas was a longstanding skirmish on the Kansas-Missouri border. It began with the Kansas–Nebraska Act of 1854, which stated that residents of Kansas could vote to allow or abolish slavery in the state. This led supporters of both ideals scrambling to see who could be a majority and vote for or against slavery. In May of 1856 a man by the name of John Brown and his supporters murdered five men who were pro-slavery. this sparked widespread violence until when the problem was settled when Kansas became a free state in 1861.
