Internation Brigades involvement (18 sept 1936 año – 23 sept 1938 año)
Descripción:
The International Brigades was a military unit created in order to help and try to assist the Republicans from Spain’s Second Republic being overthrown by a military uprising. The International Brigades was made up of foreign volunteers of mean and women who had opposed fascism, with the majority of the them being organized by the Comintern, but there was a mixture of different political parties. This huge assistance to the Republic had just sounded way too good to be true. There were approximately 35,000 volunteers apart from the International Brigades but there were never more than 15,000 of those members in Spain at one time. In addition to only having to have less than 50% of the volunteers present in Spain the majority of them had no experience or prior knowledge of military experience, which provided no assistance. Although with the help of the strict communist commanders the volunteers were under extreme military discipline. Because the International Brigades weren’t very knowledgeable in military issues they only ended up assisting the Second Republic of Spain for about two years until they withdrew from the Civil War.
