John Calvin and Calvinism (5 mar 1509 año – 16 oct 1564 año)
Descripción:
John Calvin was a radical Protestant leader. He emphasized the sovereignty of God, and he also believed in predestination, which meant that you were already destined to go to heaven or hell right when you are born. Some people were predestined to be saved, some were predestined to be damned.
Salvation could be indicated by open profession of faith, a decent and godly life, and participation in sacraments.
Calvin's "headquarters" were in Geneva, where he had his Ecclesiastical Ordinances (see event). Geneva became a vibrant center of Protestantism.
