During this period, the percentage makeup of German Gross National Product (GNP) changed, particularly regarding the agricultural and industrial sectors. Until the 1880s, agriculture accounted for 35-40 per cent of GNP, with industry at 30-35 per cent. By 1914, this balance had shifted to 25 and 45 per cent respectively. The percentage of Germans had also fallen to 35 from 50 per cent by 1907.
