The Enlightenment is the age of reason, the age of rationalism and logic. From this age comes empiricism, knowledge comes from expierience, do research. Criticism, critical thinking, do not believe everything that is said, argumentation, dare question things. Egalitarianism, everyone is born equal. Deism, rejection of god, research and critical thinking, is there really a man up there among the clouds?

The Enlightenment started among the middle class as they became more litarate, started to read and write. This meant that the middle class became more politically involved and started to criticize the government. People started to care more about their appearance and started to enjoy treats such as coffee, tea and chocolate.

Neoclassical architecture became a trend and several buildings were build in the same style as ancient greek and roman structures, the simplistic and grandeur characteristics of these buildings were desirable.
