Erina Brady returned home to Ireland before the outbreak of World War II to inform her family of her fathers death. When she was home, she opened her Irish School of Dance Arts at 39 Harcourt Street in 1939. She began with childrens classes. Erina Brady was a modern dancer who was inspired by Mary Wigman. Her aim was to spread her bodily theories of holistic movement and freedom of expression to Ireland (Egger, Foley and Mills Harper).
