Ciompi Revolt (1 ene 1378 año – 1 ene 1382 año)
Descripción:
The Ciompi revolt was a Florentine rebellion of the lower classes that was an effect of the Bubonic Plague. As citizens in cities died, peasants and serfs from the countryside flocked to urban areas for opportunities. At first, the Ciompi did well and established a quasi-socialist government. However, the popolo grasso (upper-class) prevailed in the end. As a result of the Ciompi revolt, the upper-middle class of merchants was reshuffled and the Medici rose to power.
