From 1911 to 1914, film posters would rely heavily on action shots for the film posters as this originally would be the main focus of these films and the reason as to why people would want to watch the films.

It would show the protagonist doing something heroic, playing of the heroic stereotype, which, before that stereotype was oversaturated in films, was very popular as it allowed people to enjoy the hero coming out on top all the time. They would also enjoy to see this in the poster itself.
