Lovel and Stafford Brothers 1486 - opposition from dissatisfied Yorkists - planned a co-ordinated attack but henry found out about it - sent armed forces to deal with it, offering a choice of pardon or excommunication - Lovel fled to Flanders, Humphry sought sanctuary later executed and Thomas was pardoned
Yorkist Rebellion 1489 - result of the Breton Crisis and trying to raise money for it - caused taxes to increase, and the north were less concerned about the issue so were enraged by the taxation - parliament granted henry a subsidy of £100,000 - when Earl of Northumberland went to collect taxes he was murdered showing the discontent - though the rebellion did hold some threat it was more so against taxation then Henry himself but put him in an uneasy position due to his poor financial situation
Cornish Rebellion 1497 - Henry needed money from Parliament again as there was a threat from Scotland - this was backed by Warbeck too - Rebellion started in May in Bodmin and progressed to London - however it lost for two reasons: 1- people were sick of the fighting 2- fear of what the king would do - they gained 15,000 supporters against 25,000 of the kings men - main goal was still against taxation, and the people in charge of them like Morton and Bray
John Morton - lord chancellor under henry VII -known for his harsh taxation policies Sir Reginald Bray - appointed to Henry's council in 1492 - chief financial advisor
Lamber Simnel - pretender of Earl of Warwick - gained support from Margret of Burgundy, Oxford, and Ireland - supplied 2,000 mercenaries from Burgundy - Henry was fearful he'd gain too much support and offered a right of pardon - also managed to parade the real Earl of Warwick around London Defeated in the Battle Of Stoke 8,000 v 1,200
Perkin Warbeck - pretender of Richard Duke of York - arrived in Ireland in 1491, gaining support form both French Court and Margret of Burgundy - Treaty of Etaples in 1492 put an end to French support so he fled to Flanders - welcomed in Scotland and was married to James IV cousin and provided him with 1,500 troops - imprisoned and then executed in 1499 - couldn't parade the real Duke of York
