6 years after Douglass was born his grandmother walked 12 miles with him from the house he lived in to the plantation that his slave life would begin.
Not very long after Douglass became a slave he moved away and became a ship builder.
After weaving in and out of jobs, moving from state to state Douglass learns about anti slavery and finally speaks up at an anti-slavery convention explaining to the people about his past experiences working on a slave farm.
Years and years go by and Douglass tries and tries to fight off slavery. He wrote two autobiographies and delivers many letters on how to escape slavery. Douglass left off for Canada in search to help fleeing slaves.
Fredrick Douglass is elected president of Freedman's Saving and Trust Co. There he worked Senate of the finance committee to save the bank but in the end his plan fails.
Fredrick Douglass speaks at a meeting for women's rights and dies later that bight of heart failure.
He purchased his final house and called it Cedar Hill. He expanded this house very much.
Douglass married Helen Pitts, a white woman who had been his secretary. This marriage caused problems with both their families, friends, and the public.
