On March 31, 1878 Jack Johnson was born. He was born in Galveston, Texas.
By the age of 16 Jack Johnson was on his own, traveling the country. Around the age of 16 was when Jack Johnson had his first fight.
On February 25, 1901 Jack fought Joe Choynski, he lost this fight in 3rd of 20 rounds. Jack Johnson was giving a fighting exhbit the day he lost
They were both sent to jail becasue Jack was fighting a white man
Jack and Joe were both released from prison on March 2, 1901. They were released on a $1,000 bond
Jack Johnson beat Tommy Burns in rouns 14 of 20 by a knokout. The fight was held in Sydeny, Austraila, 20,000 people packed into the staddium to watch the fight
Jack Johnson was the seventh fight to have the heavyweight title was putting it all on the line for a fight with former champion Jim Jefferies. Jefferies had not fought for 6 years but was confident he could beat Johnson
Jack Johnson was convicted in the Mann Act. October 11, 1912 Mrs. F. Cameron-Falconet told Chicago police that Johnson had kidnapped her daughter. It took less than an hour for an all white just to convict him to 1 year and 1 day.
Jack Johnson took on Jess Willard in Havana, Cuba it was a 45 round fight and in the 26 round Willard knocked out Johnson.
He fled the country and moved to Cuba
After living in exile for seven year Johnson returns to the United States. Since he returned he was sent and did all of his jail time.
Jack's life ended when he was in an automobile accident. He was in Raleign, North Carolina at the time of his death
