March 8, 1879 - Otto Hahn's birthdate Otto Hahn is born in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany.

1897 - Hahn enters University of Marburg
1901 - Hahn receives doctorate Otto Hahn receives his graduate in organic chemistry from the University of Marburg.
1905 - Discovery of "radiothorium" Hahn discovers "radiothorium", which is now known as thorium-x, an isotope of thorium. An isotope is a variant of an element with a different number of neutrons, but the same number of protons and electrons as that element. This discovery was made while working alongside Sir William Ramsay at University College in London.
1906 - Discovery of "radioactinium" Hahn discovers "radioactinium", which is now known as actinium-x, an isotope of actinium. This discovery was made while working alongside Ernest Rutherford, the leading chemist at the time.
1913 - Renaming of brevium to protactinium Hahn and Lise Meitner discover residues of "brevium" (an element previously named by Kasimir Fajans and Oswald Göhring) in residues of pitchblende ore and suggest a new name for the element: "protoactinium" (now protactinium)
March 22, 1913 - Hahn marries Edith Junghans.
July, 1914 - Hahn gets involved in WWI Hahn is ordered back into the army to help with World War I. He is sent to a unit led by Fritz Haber and works on poison gas.
1918 - President Woodrow Wilson delivers his Fourteen Points speech outlining plans to settle the Great War.
September 4, 1922 - Otto and Edith Hahn's son is born Hanno, the couple's son, is the only child they have.
July, 1938- Lise Meitner flees Germany Meitner was a long-time partner of Hahn who worked together on many groundbreaking discoveries. She was Jewish and unfortunately had to flee Germany as a result of the Nazi regime.
January 6, 1939 - Hahn and Strassmann publish paper on findings from nuclear fission experiment Because Meitner had to flee Germany, she was not included in the paper. The paper detailed the findings of their experiment involving the bombardment of neutrons on uranium. What resulted from the experiment is now known as nuclear fission.
1944 - Hahn and Strassmann receive Nobel Prize for their discovery of nuclear fission.
1949 - NATO was founded.
1933 - Hitler becomes the chancellor of Germany. His Anti-Semitic rhetoric eventually drives out Lise Meitner, Hahn's partner, who was Jewish.
1938 - Kristallnacht, "Night of Broken Glass", occurs in Germany.
1877 - The camera is patented by George Eastman.
1890 - The Eiffel Tower is constructed.
1908 - Austria annexes Bosnia and Herzegovina, causing outrage in Serbia. This ultimately sparks WWI.
