Eventos
1676: Bacon's Rebellion begins in the colony of Virginia. It was the first civil war in the American colonies and made the Virginian government afraid of future uprising, setting the stage for the American Civil War.
1680: The Pueblo Revolt begins. It was one of the first notable and successful uprisings of a native people of the Americas rising up and fighting against the colonists.
1689: The Leisler Rebellion in New York begins. This was important because it began to establish anti- British settlements and tension within the colonies.
1688: The Glorious Revolution begins. This was important because it ensured that England would not be under the control of an absolute monarchy, but rather, a constitutional monarchy. This strengthened the parliament's power.
1649: Maryland Toleration Act is established. This was important because it allowed religious freedom to non-conformist Protestants such as Baptists and congregationalists. This act became one of the many which began the Glorious Revolution.
1675: The Lords of Trade and Plantation is established by Charles II. This event is significant because it created stronger ties between colonial leaders and the crown.
1620: The Mayflower Compact is written. This event is important because it was the first democratic government to be established in the American colonies.
1660: The Navigation Act is passed. This event is important because they tightened Britain's control over trade across the Atlantic.
1639: The Fundamental Orders of Connecticut are passed. This event is important because it was the first constitution in American history.
1662: The Halfway Covenant is established. This event is important because it lessened the difference between partial and elect members of the Church, meaning even partial members could enjoy rights
