The Le Prince family move to New York in 1881, where Louis supervises a group of artists who paint huge panoramic murals, which inspired Louis's future invention.
Louis starts working on a 16 lens Motion picture camera, 1885.
Louis applied for a US patent for his 16 lens camera, 1886.
He received the patent for his 16 lens camera, but he was not named as the creator of a working model in any of his patents, he was also working on a single lens version, which was successful, and very similar to what was used in motion pictures until the digital camera was created, 1888.
He actually filmed 3 films on his camera, one of which, known as the Roundhay Garden Scene featured his son, his in- laws and a family friend was filmed on October 14, 1888. 10 day later on the 24th of October his mother in law, who is in the film died.
Louis showed his moving pictures at the National Opera in Paris, where he allowed those attending to examine the mechanisms
Louis, who was visiting his brother in Dijon, France and collecting his inheritance from his mother's will left carrying a black suitcase with the money and some patent documents he still needed to finish work on, boarded a train to return to his workshop in Leeds and collect his camera to travel to New York to show his invention on the world stage and he was never seen again, 2:37 16, September 1890.
Due to patent laws, his wife could not use his patents until 7 years after his disappearance. It would have been 1897 but by that time Thomas Edison had already shown off his version, and had it patented Louis's name was lost to history.
Edison started conceptualizing a motion picture camera in 1888.
Edison's first film was shot and shown in 1891. That's 3 years after Louis's were.
Edison gets his motion picture camera patented on August 31, 1897.
Thomas Edison showed off his kinetoscope movies on May 9, 1893 at the Chicago world fair.
Edisons kinetoscope movies were projected, on the 21 April, 1895.
