6 feb 1635 año - 17th Century Emoji
Descripción:
Researchers from the National Archive in Trenčín, Slovakia have recently (~February, 2017) discovered documents signed by Ján Ladislaides, a notary in Trenčín in the mid 17th century.
Ladislaides drew the face as an indication that he signed and reviewed the document in question (the accounts of the Chamberlain of the Town Hall in 1635). He's read and is happy with the document and its contents, hence the smiley face. Although it doesn't look quite like the smiley face emojis we're used to now, historians have concluded it to be an early variety of the emoji (World's Oldest Known Smiley).
There's another picture of a clown finger with what looks like a hashtag on it, but historians have yet to determine the context of that picture (Mailonline, 2017).
These documents are now stored in the State Archives in Trenčín, Slovakia.
