Descripción:
Prior to 1824, each and every president of the US except for John Adams were elite slaveholders from Virginia, plus they were very educated and went to college before. These presidents saw themselves as belonging to a better class of people that were naturally suited for leadership.
During the presidency of Andrew Jackson, he changed the name of Democratic-Republicans to Democrats only, and he expanded democracy.
people were starting to fear too much of democracy.
One more thing which is still seen in today's American system is the two party system. One other thing that Andrew Jackson did was he opposed the National Bank which even today, The US does not have a National Bank.
During the election, the property qualifications for white male were removed. Even though for slaves and women it was not the same. Most states including the 13 Original states removed the property qualifications. 79% of voters voted for presidential elections.
A common man is referred to the ordinary people who usually do not have much impact on the society or do not have a big name, this was also given to Andrew Jackson since he came from humble beginnings.
