1 ene 1815 año - Contextualization: (4.3) : The Era of Good Fellings

Descripción:

Prior to 1816 and the “Era of Good Feelings”, Europe continued to wage wars due to the American and French Revolutions which upset European affairs. During this time the United States continued to become victimized by British and French impressment of ships, soldiers, and goods. Due to these European actions, anti-British and anti-French feelings began to arise among the American people and government. While anti-European feelings arose in the United States, the Napoleonic wars began to ravage Europe. Ultimately, the European countries would unify against Napoleon and end his conquest of the continent. As America began to reassert its rights and Britain pivoted back to North America, the War of 1812 began, was won by America and ushered in the “Era of Good Feelings”.

The era of good feelings was marked by national unity and political harmony after the war of 1812. It saw economic growth and territorial expansion, mainly under president James. However, underlying tension over issues like slavery and economic policy began to emerge.
