4 ene 1772 año - 1772 - The Gaspee Incident
Descripción:
A warship called Gaspee had been tasked in 1772 to navigate through Rhode Island to chase down any smugglers. However, by accident, they ran aground on the shore and since they had no supplies, they started taking resources from the local colonies, such as sheeps and hogs. The Colonies were pretty upset so they boarded the ship, shot the captain and evacuated the remaining crew subsequently setting the ship on fire. After this incident, Samuel Adam’s response was to create what he called the Committees of Correspondence, which would be a space for colonists to communicate what they had been facing and struggling with due to the British Government’s decisions.
