The Albany Plan of Union was a proposal made by Benjamin Franklin that said the colonies should unite under one single government. The colonists didn't like central power and therefore this proposal didn't go well. It was rejected by all of the colonies. Something that caused this was the French and Indian war where they colonists felt as if they didn't want to be apart of it and that it was not their fight. Some effects were establishing the pillar for an early government and getting the ideas into the colonists heads that freedom from the king is possible.
