The Tea Act was an important act passed by the British government that forced the colonists to buy their tea exclusively from the British East India Company Tea. This company was ran by the British government, indirectly taxing the colonists for their tea. This act was considered the "final straw" because the Sons of Liberty, after suffering this tax for 7 months, they organized the Boston Tea Party.
