In October 2022 we committed to the complete redesign of the gangs violence matrix (GVM). We've been considering how it can best make assessments and meet operational challenges. This has been informed by the commissioner’s vision to become more evidence based and data driven in our approach. This is set out in our two year plan A New Met for London.
Responding to feedback from a range of sources, including the communities we serve, we've decided to discontinue use of the gangs violence matrix. This took effect on 13 February 2024.
