Local newspapers and radio have used Citizens Advice Newcastle for items of current interest, and the power of the media was amply demonstrated when clients with financial problems came flooding into Citizens Advice Newcastle following a television programme about needing advice for multiple debts.

Unfortunately, people's expectations were raised, and they hoped that Citizens Advice Newcastle would make their problems go away when, in most cases, it could not.
