Citizens Advice Newcastle (CAN) were asked by the unions to talk to employees of NEI Parsons who were about to be made redundant, many of whom had always enjoyed full employment as skilled craftsmen. CAN were able to offer general guidance and to follow this up with individual specialist advice, where appropriate.
