16 mayo 1987 año - Commission for Racial Equality Funding
Descripción:
In the autumn of 1987, the service applied for a grant from the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) to hire an advice/community worker. This worker would connect the Citizens Advice in Cruddas Park and Cowgate with the Asian community in the city's western wards, who were not actively using the service.
The main tasks included advising on racial discrimination, employment, harassment, and housing. In May 1987, the grant application was approved, and Jaj Kahn was hired, starting in August. He integrated well into the role. Although the funding was only for one year, the service negotiated with Mr. Les Roberts of the City's Community Services Department to potentially secure Section 11 funding once the CRE grant ends.
