17 abr 1987 año - Reforms to Social Security Acts

Descripción:

In April 1988, the introduction of the Social Fund as part of the proposed Social Security Act reform led to fewer appeals to the Social Security Appeal Tribunals (S.S.A.T.). This change required organisations like Citizens Advice Newcastle to seek alternative funding sources for their clients. The Tribunal Assistance Scheme is preparing to shift its focus towards areas such as debt, housing, and representation in County Court. While supplementary benefit appeals tribunals will be abolished, other types of tribunals will continue, and Citizens Advice Newcastle will still represent clients at these.
