Sigebert hears of a dragon worm that has taken up residence in the Helpt Hills. He travels to the worm's lair and vanquishes the dragon. In the dragon's hoard, he finds a necklace with a large blood-red jewel set within it. When it puts it on his neck, he feels his essence become permanent and intractable.
