Causes:
1. President Von Hindenburg died from lung cancer in his home in Neudeck, East Prussia on the 2nd August 1934
2. The great depression helped Hitler gain supporters. During the great depression the unemployment rates were very high, which is where Hitler made speeches where he’d guarantee employment and money among other things to gain supporters.
3. His great public speaking skills was one of the key aspects of his campaign as he persuaded everyone into joining him.
4. Hitler had his mind set on succeeding in Hindenburg however not as a president but as a Fuhrer.

Effects:
1. Hitler applied numerous racist policies.
2. Wanted to deport or kill Jews.
3. In WW2 Hitler elected establishments altered Germany into a war state which he was committed to master Europe
4. Hitler had decided to attack Poland which then lead to Britain and France announcing War on Germany.
5. June 1941 Hitler ordered an attack on the Soviet Union. His purpose for doing this was for the demolition of the Soviet Union by military force and the enduring elimination of the apparent Communist danger to Germany.
6. 1941 German forces occupied most of Europe and North Africa under the orders of Hitler due to the amount of power he had gained.
7. The holocaust went on for around 12 years killing over 6 million Jews, slaves, homosexuals, etc by being gassed or shot due to the actions of Hitler and his beliefs.
8. Throughout the holocaust six million Jews were killed across German which was occupied Europe
9. Around two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population were killed.
10. Hitler committed suicide on the 30 of April when he was still in power.
