1 ene 1971 año - 90% of the population had a television in their homes

Descripción:

This was a mass increase from the 75% who owned a television in 1961 and with three channels (BBC1, BBC2 and ITV), TV was becoming more exciting.

ITV gave advertiser a new leash to appeal to the audience inside their own homes.

The new director-general of the BBC, Hugh Greene, focused more towards television than radio. Although TV was taking over, radio was still a significant part of people's leisure time. This is especially true with radios being more portable and cheaper leading to young people having the freedom to listen to channels in their own rooms.
