Descripción:
The Teapot Dome Scandal, one of the most notorious political scandals in U.S. history, involved the secret leasing of federal oil reserves by the Secretary of the Interior, Albert B. Fall, in exchange for personal bribes and no-bid contracts. The scandal came to light in the early 1920s, leading to a Senate investigation in 1923 that eventually resulted in the conviction of Fall, making him the first former U.S. Cabinet official to be imprisoned for crimes committed in office.
