The years during and after WWI were marked by a large number of race riots of white Americans joining mobs to attack mostly African American people and/or communities. The Red Summer of 1919 is one to point out, as there were over 40 riots in a short period of time in several different cities of the US. It is important to note that these massacres occurred not only in the South but across the whole country.A list of some of the race riots:
