3 mar 1832 año - Worcester v. Georgia
Descripción:
Worcester v. Georgia, decided by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1832, was a significant case in which the court ruled that the state of Georgia did not have the authority to impose regulations on Native American land, as these lands were under federal jurisdiction. Despite the ruling that effectively supported the sovereignty of the Cherokee Nation, President Andrew Jackson refused to enforce the decision, leading to the continued removal of Native Americans from their ancestral lands under the Indian Removal Act.
