On May 25 Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin killed the 46 year old George Floyd, ignoring his calls of distress about not being able to breath. The incident was filmed and shared online, resulting in international protests in solidarity against police brutality under the #BlackLivesMatter rallying cry. Chauvin and the three other officers at the scene were found guilty of violating Floyd‘s civil rights.
